SQUADS ZOOM SESSION OVERVIEW

 

During the next 4 weeks we will be working towards the British Gymnastics Award Scheme for Advanced Gymnastics – Advanced Proficiency. 

This scheme is built around a number of key categories of which we will be focusing on Fitness and Floor. The gymnasts will achieve their award for both categories by completing all Zoom sessions. See timetable for squad zoom sessions.

These skills have been adapted to be safe for gymnasts to work through at home.

 

The skills are broken down into progressive levels of Bronze, Silver and Gold 

 

Our gymnasts have made such progress this half term and we want to keep moving forwards. These Zoom sessions will not only allow for gymnasts to achieve a British Gymnastics award during this time but will keep them progressing in their sport. 

We have also scheduled some fun and interactive challenges to keep our gymnasts motivated and connected to their LWGC team

 

We passionately believe that keeping children engaged with their sport, having tangible goals to work towards and keeping a level of normality and routine will have a huge positive impact on our children’s mental well-being.

 

It is parents/guardians choice as to whether you purchase these awards or not.

Gymnasts challenge: LWGC B KIND for Children In Need 

7 acts of kindness: download our Kindness template form to record what you do OR Join us in our fun run for children in need, Dress up and GO!

Gymnasts challenge: ALL STARS LEOTARD COMP 

Design your own boys or girls leotard! Prize for each year group winner! Overall winner will win their leotard designed and created!!!!

Week 3: Thursday 19th November – Wednesday 25th November 

Gymnasts challenge: Be the Coach teach a member of your family a gymnastics skill like an arabesque or straddle lever, a rock n roll - and get a photo to share with us on Facebook

Week 4 Thursday 26th November – Wednesday 2nd December 

Gymnasts challenge: Proud to be LWGC In preparation for next week ‘Celebration week’– we encourage everyone to share a video or a photo of a gymnastics skill, award or memory that they are really proud of.
