A letter to our members from Abby & Dave and the team at LWGC

Dear Members,

In these uncertain times we feel it is important to provide clarity and to be open and honest with our members. We understand that absolutely everyone will continue to be affected by COVID-19 in the coming weeks and months, and we wanted to share with you the challenges that lie ahead for LWGC.

Most of you know us; a family run business, with our gymnasts at the heart of everything we do. 10 years ago, we started this gymnastics club running from a school hall with minimal equipment and small overheads. Over the years we have trained coaches, who now train our coaches, and have collectively developed the most incredible team of people who have become our extended family.

It has been a dream for us to see so many young people enjoy and grow to love the sport that we hold so dear. One of the most rewarding aspects of our clubs’ journey has been to see gymnasts and coaches alike grow in confidence and it has been our privilege to see first-hand the wonderful physical and mental benefits that gymnastics provides.

However, with the transition to a dedicated facility, Olympic standard apparatus and a team of professional coaches (and the most wonderful people) comes huge financial obligations and responsibility. The current government support, which may or may not be available to LWGC, will inevitably help but will by no means cover the running costs of our club.

We need your support, now more than ever. Heres's our plan.

Fees:

• ALL Members fees will be reduced to £5 per child, per month.

• This takes affect now, until further notice.  This includes April’s scheduled fees.

By continuing to pay a reduced fee you are helping us to secure the future of our club, allowing us to plan for our club's future; our finances, staffing, registers and timetable so that we can resume as normal as soon as possible.

If you are in a position to support us through this time by continuing your membership with us you will be helping to save many jobs, helping to secure the future of gymnastics for your children and their team mates and of course, you'll be supporting the gymnastics community that we all hold so dearly.

In return:

• We will provide online content, launching really soon so your child can continue to participate in gymnastics at home

• We will set fun, interactive challenges for your children to practice and share with the LWGC community

• We will hold your child’s place, for when we re-start classes as soon as it is safe to do so

• We will continue to keep you informed with all of the latest updates from LWGC, British Gymnastics and the wider gymnastics community

If you're happy with the new proposed fees contribution, firstly THANK YOU! you don't need to do anything. We'll update all the fees on the system.

We understand though, during this very difficult time that you might not be in a position to support us, if this is the case please simply reply to the email we have sent out within 48 hours and we will cancel your child's place.

On behalf of the whole team who are missing their gymnasts and their gym terribly, we send well wishes and love to you all. Stay safe, stay well (stay sane) and we cannot wait to see you all again as soon as possible – virtually for now though! We'd love to see your children participating in our online classes & challenges, please do share them with us on our Facebook page, join our Facebook group and on Instagram too.

A huge and very heartfelt thank you for your lovely messages and kind words. We cannot tell you how much it means to us.

Sending love and wishing you the very best.

Abby and Dave
