COVID-19 PLEASE WASH YOUR HANDS WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT LWGC.

At LWGC we are committed to keeping you all safe and we wanted to reassure you all.

Here is some information regarding procedures that are always in place at Leamington and Warwick Gymnastics Club.

At our club we strive for the highest level of cleanliness & our club is cleaned every morning before doors open. In addition to this a further team of cleaners carry out a 'deep clean' once a week. We close our doors every lunch time, where the toilets are cleaned and points of contact are also cleaned. These are procedures that have always been in place at LWGC.

If you ever find the toilets need attention, just let a member of staff know.

In response to the latest developments we have put additional measures in place at LWGC

Most importantly: PLEASE WASH YOUR HANDS WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT LWGC.

Without exception all visitors to LWGC must wash their hands when you arrive and regular intervals if you are at the gym for an extended length of time, using the hand-wash provided in all toilets.

Additional cleaning: Before and after each session, points of contact such as doors and bannisters will be cleaned. This also applies to gym equipment, which will be cleaned before we open, between each session, at lunchtime and before and after our evening classes.

You CAN drop your gymnast off at the door and when they are safely in the gym you are able to leave site and collect your gymnast at the end of their session. This applies to all children from reception age upwards.

Please read following advice from Sport England which explained the importance of keeping children active. We also understand that many children will want to keep their routine as much as possible, for as long as possible.

“..given that being fit and healthy acts as a deterrent to most infections, it's crucial that members of the public continue to lead active lives throughout this period, whether that's using a local gym or walking or cycling, where it’s possible to do so.

Unless there's official advice telling you not to do so, and as long as you follow the government advice on how to avoid catching or spreading the virus, you can continue with things like club sports fixtures, group activities and use leisure facilities.”

Furthermore, please follow the same rules as your child's school or setting. If a child is unwell, has a cough or cold or they are unable to attend school due to illness, please don't bring them to gymnastics, this also applies if they have had any diarrhoea or vomiting in the previous 48 hour period. This also applies to siblings who may be off school, still coming in to gym to watch their family member. If a gymnast has a family member they live with who is self isolating, please don't bring your gymnast to LWGC.

There are always tissues on the front desk and in the gym itself, we encourage everyone to use the tissues and put them straight into the bin. Catch it, Bin it, Kill it.

We continue to monitor the latest advice and are also taking advice from the Public Health team at Warwickshire County Council regularly.

You can find the latest information on the government website here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-information-for-the-public

LWGC is committed to keeping everyone safe, if for any reason the gym should need to close for a short period of time (which is not intended currently) resulting in your child missing a class, we will offer make-up sessions, so you can be safe in the knowledge that your gymnast won't miss out.

We would like to thank you all for your lovely messages over the past few days and weeks as a small business it is difficult for us to explain our feelings during these unprecedented times and also for us to predict the future we therefore rely on the commitment of our families at this difficult time. If we all pull together there will indeed be an LWGC for your children to return to for another next ten years.
